Lovington Schools Adds Two Safety Officers

Lovington, NM (December 5, 2022) Safety is a top priority for Lovington Municipal Schools.  The school district partners with several law enforcement agencies to serve the school community and have been working closely with Lovington Police Department to secure a new school resource officer (SRO).  The previous SRO left the department prior to the start of the 2022-2023 school year.  Lovington Schools is pleased to announce the addition of not one, but two new safety officers who will serve Lovington Schools. 

Officer Robert Still will be the new SRO.  Officer Still, has been in law enforcement for 3 years, previously as an officer for the City of Hobbs, and served in the US Army. In addition to SRO training, Officer Still has been certified as a K9 Officer.  Officer Still is excited to join the Lovington Schools team and has been surveying campuses and meeting with district administrators and the District Safety Team.

The second officer supporting Lovington Schools is K9 Officer Loki.  K9 Officer Loki is a Belgian Malinois trained by Von Liche Kennels.  Von Liche Kennels are a nationally recognized dog training organization specializing in dogs utilized by the United States Secret Service, the US Army Special Forces, and many other law enforcement agencies.  K9 Officer Loki transferred to the Lovington Police Department upon approval by the Lovington City Commission from the Hobbs Police Department.  K9 Officer Loki and Officer Still have worked together since 2020.
